All Dogs Work!

It’s Labor Day! The unofficial close of summer. It’s a day when we honor the workers of America. But since this is a dog blog I like to remember all the dogs in America. Because let’s face it – all dogs work! Now, I’m not talking about only those that are ADA classified assistance dogs or therapy dogs or even emotional support dogs. We all know how important those canine workers are. I’m talking about regular every day dogs that are there for us humans all the time. Dogs like Ms. Victoria in Muncie, Indiana. I’m talking about Miss Dakota in Omaha, Nebraska. And Sargent in San Jose, CA. And Clara Bell in Georgia.

Just think about all the things your dog does for you every day. When you first open your eyes in the morning and see your best friend – Don’t you get a warm and fuzzy feeling? Who better helps you clean the dinner dishes? I know when my plate has left over food Morgan is ready and willing to do his part. And who would you rather take a walk with on a cool fall Sunday afternoon? Or cuddle with on a cold winter eve? You don’t have to give me the answer because, let’s face it, I already know who it is. But you could tell Morgan and me how your pup works to make your life better here below in the comments section.

Morgan and I wish everyone a happy and safe Labor Day this year.

Thanks Mary for those kind words. We always talk about coming over. We have friends in Essex and plan to visit them some day. We’ll also take in Ireland where our relatives come from. As well as Scotland and Wales. Hugs to you all. Give Ruby, Jake and Sarah, as well as Merlin a little peck on the forehead from us.

      All the best,
      Dan and Morgan

My buddy Chester – golden lab/golden retriever – is a supreme worker. He accompanies me on walks in the forest, on the boat, and helps as greeter at my dog-friendly resort near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota. Always good to hear about your golden adventures. Best to you and Morgan!

Hey Ron, thanks for commenting and for the kind words. Chester looks like a great companion and a hard worker. Your lodge and grounds look incredible! I’ve been reading a lot about the Boundary Waters area. I have some close friends from up your way and they talk about it fondly all the time. Good luck to you and Chester. Enjoy fall!!!

Oakley, Max and Daphne work tirelessly to entertain mom & dad from the time we wake to when we call it a day. They work to make us smile and laugh and they work their magic to get those scraps from our plates. Big hugs to your working dog. We love you Morgan!

Loved the new blog Dan. As always I love to follow you and Morgan. And you know my boy Jake. He works every day. Either by accompanying me on a therapy visit to help cheer up kids in school or patients in the hospital or nursing homes or he helps me to teach others to work together with their own dogs to strengthen their bond. He also helps me to prepare other Handler and dog teams to become certified therapy teams. But most of all he makes me feel loved and happy everyday. He is my best friend ❤️
